Please read below to see if we
have already answered you question. If you have an important query which
is not answered here, click the link at the bottom of this page to our
contact page and fill in your details along with your query.
Q: Do I have to pay shipping if I order 3 DVDs
released on different dates?
A: No, as long as there are 3 or more
titles on the order, shipping is FREE, no matter when they are released
or shipped. Box sets count as 1 title.
Q: Do I get a packing slip with my DVDs
A: No, everything is picked & packed
manually so no packing slip is printed.
Q: How do I pay by cheque, postal order or cash?
A: Use the shopping cart & checkout
as normal but tick the relative payment box after filling in you name
& address and you will be instructed to print the order confirmation
or make a note of the order number to post to us with your payment.
Q: Why do I have to put my credit/debit card
number on every order I make
A: Even though our web site uses a secure
server to send your order details to us, we do not store your card details
for security reasons to protect you from fraudulent abuse.
Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
A: You will receive an email to tell you
when your credit/debit card has been processed or when your payment has
been received by post. From this processed date, most titles are usually
despatched within 2 working days and are then in the post for 4-6 working
days. Forthcoming releases will follow as they are released. Any title
not in stock will be sent as it is restocked from the distributor.
Q: When will a new release be shipped if I pre-order
it?
A: As long as you pre-order it before
stock arrives, it will be shipped when the studio supplies the first batch
which is usually 1 to 2 weeks prior to the release date, then taking the
usual 4-6 working days in the post. We obviously can’t guarantee
they will always arrive early.
Q: Why are your discs Canadian?
A: North American Region 1 DVDs are sold
in the USA and Canada. Due to the large difference between the exchange
rates of the US and Canadian Dollar, we have chosen to source all our
DVDs from Canadian distributors. This allows us to keep our prices competitive.
Q: Where do I sent my order to?
A: US Direct, PO Box 518, Huddersfield,
HD8 0FB
Q: Who do I make cheques or Postal Orders payable
to?
A: Make them out to US Direct.
Q: How do I change my address details?
A: When you place your next order, you
will be asked to confirm you address. Click “no” and fill
out your new details.
Q: I placed an order but I’ve moved, what
can I do?
A: Unfortunately, once the order is printed
off in Canada, no matter if we change the address in the computer, the
original address will remain the same on the order so all outstanding
discs will be sent to that address. You will need to have your mail redirected.
Q: When am I charged for my DVDs?
A: We have to charge your whole order
as it is placed because we don’t ship anything from the UK and it
would be impractical to inform us every time a DVD is about to ship so
we could charge the card and advise whether cards were declined or not.
It would mean big delays and a vast amount of administration.
Q: Why can’t I view the trailers in your
links?
A: Firstly you need to install Quicktime
to view most trailers which is free from the link on the trailers page.
Also you need a fast connection such as Broadband or Cable Modem to view
them in a reasonable time.
Q: What is the difference between US & Canadian
DVDs and are some covers different to those shown on your web site?
A: They are both region 1, see here for
more details.
Q: what do I do if I receive a faulty disc or
a title I did not order?
A: Click the link to our contact page
at the bottom of this page and fill in the details of the fault or the
incorrect title received, you will be emailed back with a returns authorisation.
You will be asked to post it to our Huddersfield address and your costs
can be deducted from your next order.
Q: What if all or part of my order is lost in
the post?
A: Even though the post usually takes
4-6 working days, we cannot request replacements until 30 days have passed
from the release date or the date you ordered, whichever is later. This
is just in case of any customs or postal delays. If you are still awaiting
anything after this time, click the link to our contact page at the bottom
of this page and fill in the details.
Q: What do I do if my order arrives but it’s
incomplete?
A: Most titles are usually despatched
within 2 working days but any title not in stock will be sent as it is
restocked from the distributor. You don’t need to contact us about
missing DVDs until 30 days have passed for reasons stated above.
Q: Can I get a refund for a title that is on
back order or delayed?
A: Due to the way your payments are forwarded
in large transfers to the suppliers in Canada, we are unable to get refunds
and our only option would be to ask you to substitute to a similar priced
title but it is extremely rare for anything to be on back order for a
long period of time.
Q: How can I tell if you have a DVD in stock?
A: Every DVD is shipped from Canada so
it impossible to keep an accurate stock control system. In most cases,
titles are shipped within 2 working days of ordering and it is very rare
that anything has to be back ordered. Those that are usually ship within
a week or 2 and only a handful end up having to be substituted.
Q: What happens if I have to pay a customs duty
charge?
A: We have been in this business since
1999 and in the time, the number of Customs charges incurred could be
counted on your fingers. This is because of the way the packages are labelled
and the route they take into the UK so your virtually certain not to get
any charges. However, in the extremely rare event of Customs charging
duty, please pay the charge and keep the receipt, this would be deducted
from your next order. However, this only applies to UK customers, duty
charges cannot be refunded for non UK customers.
Q: Are there any hidden charges or do I have
to order a certain number of DVDs?
A: This is not a club so you can order
as many or as few as you like, even 1 DVD is good business for us, you
need never order again. If you order less than 3 titles, there is a £1.99
postage charge but if as you are ordering 3 or more titles, there is absolutely
nothing else to pay besdies the price of the DVDs.
Q: Can I return a DVD if it’s incompatible
with my player?
A: We can only return a DVD if there it
is damaged or defective. Some Region 1 DVDs will not play on all auto
selection multi-region DVD players so you need to check you can set you
player to region 1 as they cannot be returned due to incompatibility.
Q: Can I find out if my order has shipped?
A: Unfortunately the packing system is
not automated, everything is picked manually & filed when the order
is complete so we can’t show an order status. However, it is hoped
that we can incorporate such a system in the future.
Q: How do I know if a DVD has RCE (Region Code
Enhancement)?
A: At present, we only know of Columbia
Tristar using RCE but there may be more studios adopting this in the future
so we cannot specify which DVDs do or don’t have RCE. If you are
not sure if you can play DVDs with RCE, the best solution is to take your
player to be rechipped so you can play any DVD.
